
NEET Pathways — Preparing for Adulthood
NEET PATHWAY(not in education employment or training) is a suite of four certified skills development courses for young people, as well as learners with a range of special educational needs. The programmes are mapped to the “preparing for adulthood” (PfA) pathways and is our key programme to achieve positive outcomes for young people with an education, health and care plan (EHCP).
These Personal Skills Development courses are designed to raise aspirations and specifically address the needs of young people, including learners with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) through meaningful and creative learning opportunities. Each of the NEET Pathways courses provide a real-life context to reward achievement and focus on a person-centred planning approach to development.
Who is it for?
NEET Pathways is a suite of four certified skills development courses designed for young people, including learners with a range of special educational needs. These programs are mapped to the 'Preparing for Adulthood' (PfA) pathways and are our key program for achieving positive outcomes for young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Ages 16 and up
Courses cater for learners around age 16+, exploring their aspirations through aspects of PSHE and Citizenship, working from pre-Entry level to Entry Level 3.
Special educational needs
NEET Pathways help young people aged 16+ with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), linked to subjects such as English, Science, and PSHE.

Our person-centred planning approach addresses the needs of young people through meaningful and creative learning opportunities set in a real-life context.
Preparing for adulthood study programme
This holistic, person-centred curriculum builds independence through Life Skills, prepares learners for work through Employability, and supports emotional resilience through Wellbeing — sequenced logically and personalised to EHCP outcomes.
Life skills development
Our programs are designed to raise aspirations and address the needs of young people, including those with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), focusing on practical life skills.
Employability and wellbeing
The curriculum prepares learners for work through Employability modules and supports emotional resilience through Wellbeing, all while exploring their aspirations through PSHE and Citizenship.

Programme Intent
This programme is designed to develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours learners need to live independently, maintain wellbeing, and access employment.

- Autumn 1 — Life Skills: Money Management, Daily Routines → basic independence, handling money

Course 1: Life Skills
This Life Skills course meets individual needs by providing a personalised curriculum for learners with SEND. The course is designed to empower young people to be more independent via money management skills, independent living, PSHE, everyday living skills and travel planning.

Course 2: Employability
This is a short studies course which prepares learners for the world of work through CV building, interview preparation and customer service skills, teamwork, communication.

Course 3: Health & Wellbeing
This is a short health and wellness course that focuses on emotional, physical and mental wellbeing through sessions on mindfulness, meal preparation, maintaining a positive mindset and confidence-building workshops.

Course 4: Leadership & Empowerment
This is a Short course (with 8 modules) that will engage and motivate learners through a personalised curriculum. Learners will present evidence of their activities that will contain a record of challenges completed, supporting evidence for each challenge, documents showing how learners have reviewed their activities, a summary of their achievement, highlighting skills developed via reflection and personal statement.

At PEDIA, we ensure comprehensive evidence collection to support certification for all our NEET Pathways courses, demonstrating skill development and readiness for adulthood. Our detailed approach includes a variety of methods to capture each learner's progress and achievements effectively.
Portfolio of evidence
We compile a thorough portfolio for each learner, including photos, worksheets, and videos, showcasing their engagement and mastery of skills throughout the course.
CV and employability documents
Learners develop essential employability documents, such as CVs and cover letters, directly applying the skills learned in our employability modules to prepare for future opportunities.
Recorded practical tasks
Practical tasks, such as cooking sessions, travel training, and mock interviews, are recorded to provide tangible evidence of acquired life skills and practical abilities.
Wellbeing journals and skills checklists
Learners maintain wellbeing journals to track emotional growth, alongside skills checklists mapped directly to course outcomes, culminating in a final progress report.
